Melissa Woo of Las Lomas High wins the 2006 Diablo Foothill League Most Valuable Player Title! Melissa Woo shoots her personal best 9 hole score of 2 under (par 36) at Blue Rock Springs Golf Course during a JGANC tournament. For the first 6 holes, she did not swing well but then finished strongly with 12 straight holes of par or birdie and shot 79. From video standpoint, she completely understands her swing and was able to correct a problem in the middle of a competitive round just like the touring pros. Great job Melissa! Tim Boucher of Archbishop Mitty High School shoots 1 under par 35 at San Jose Municipal Golf Course and wins low medalist honors. Congratulations Tim! Melissa Woo shoots 80 (9 over) at Mira Vista Country Club with a personal best even par on the back nine from the red tees. At the Sonoma County Junior Open, John Miller from Pinole shoots 68 (5 over) at Oakmont Country Club improving 13 stroke over his score last year. 75 year-old James Woo shoots a personal best score of 39 (3 over) on the back nine for one of his best scores of 82. 12 year old Ryan Woo shoots a personal best score of 39 from the white tees at Mira Vista Country Club. Four-time Club Champion Izumi Tada from Oakland hits a hole-in-one on the 2nd hole at Mira Vista Country Club en route to an even par round of 71. Wes Woo shoots three consecutive 9-hole scores of 1 over par 36 on the front nine of Mira Vista Country Club. With those combined scores, his NCGA index is now at a personal best of 2.6.
